Direct from his own BBC2 series The Stephen K Amos Show and starring in BBC One’s Live At The Apollo, Stephen K Amos is back on the road again for 2011.

If laughter is the best medicine then Amos should be prescribed by the NHS for his formidable healing powers – Evening Standard

It was on Live At The Apollo that I first witnessed the intelligent wit and warmhearted relaxed style of the performer; a style which has cemented him in the hearts of comedy lovers who appreciate a slice of light relief, melt-in-the-middle fun and frolics. I am just such an audience member. I like my stand ups to be funny, not poke fun; to observe and not affront. What better remedy in this age of austerity therefore, than to forget the doom and gloom and to authenticate that most wise of sayings; that laughter really is the best medicine.

The last few years have seen Stephen steadily become a household name – recently starring in BBC One’s dance-off Let’s Dance for Sport Relief, appearing regularly on The One Show and The Wright Stuff and guesting on Have I Got News For You, Mock The Week and Stand Up For The Week. Amos is also a gifted actor, impressing audiences and critics with his performances on stage and screen. He has starred in several notable plays at the Edinburgh Festival and more recently he appeared in the West End and Edinburgh run of ‘One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest‘ alongside Christian Slater. It would be fair to say therefore that Amos is a consummate performer, blending witty anecdotes from his childhood and adolescence seamlessly with razor-sharp topical and cultural observations.

Taking on an impressive 69 dates on his tour; Amos covers the length and breadth of the UK, from Cardiff to Canterbury, Belfast to Brighton.
