The Temper Trap announced details of their self-titled second album today, set for release on May 21st, 2012. The record will be the band’s first as a newly-expanded five-piece outfit following the permanent addition of Joseph Greer on keyboard and guitar. The album will feature 12 new tracks recorded in Los Angeles with producer Tony Hoffer (Beck, M83, Phoenix). If debut album ‘Conditions’ is any kind of measure; this is a world which Alice will not be overly concerned with leaving any time soon.

A first taste of the record has been released, in the form of album track ‘Rabbit Hole’, which is available to stream from today via www.thetempertrap.com. The first official single from the album will be opening track ‘Need Your Love’, set for release on May 7th, 2012. The band’s breakthrough single, ‘Sweet Disposition’, spent more than six months in the UK singles chart and their debut album was one of the standout successes of the year and has now sold over 800,000 copies worldwide.

The band will embark on a sold out tour of the US in March and have today announced a full UK tour for May, to coincide with the album release. Tickets for the UK shows are on sale at 12pm on Friday 9th March.
