Quirky, striking and flame-haired females; Paloma Faith at Delamere Forest

After a relatively quiet couple of months on here, due to lots of studying and essay writing for my latest Masters module; I am very much looking forward to reviewing Paloma Faith this week at Delamere Forest, Cheshire (July 5th, 2013).

The reviews of the sold out tour, in partnership with the Forestry Commission, have been excellent so far and I’m certain that this show will be no different. I’ve always been a huge fan of Faith’s songwriting and vocal abilities, and she’s pretty hilarious too. I do enjoy a quirky, striking and flame-haired female. Faith’s 2012 sophomore album, ‘Fall To Grace’, has achieved remarkable success with popular tracks ‘Picking Up the Pieces’, ‘30 Minute Love Affair’, ‘Just Be’ and her enchanting cover of ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ sitting comfortably in the UK charts and showing no sign of movement.

My favourite track from the album is ‘Just Be’ and it will be a delight to hear the song performed live.

Will Young at Delamere Forest, Cheshire – review and photos for eFestivals

leave a comment »

It was touch and go for a moment on Friday (June 6th, 2012), as to whether the heavy rain showers would cause Will Young ‘s Delamere Forest, Cheshire show to be cancelled. Luckily for his fans and for myself on reviewing duties, this eventuality never came to pass and Young finished his UK Forest Tour in trademark style.

Young confessed that he has three ages: 27 in public, 33 in private and 12 when dancing, then proceeded to twirl in manner of Billy Elliot with a hint of Louis Spence. This drew huge laughter from the crowd, an occurrence that was to become a regular event throughout the show. The atmosphere was one of being amongst friends; such is the easygoing nature of Young. He genuinely appears to be every bit as unassuming as his music videos portray and is clearly able and ever willing to laugh at himself.

If you would like to read my The Hills/reality tv-themed review and look at photographs from the show, please visit: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/foresttours/2012-willyoung/review-overview.shtml

Where others see a mountain, I simply see a steep hill; Will Young @will_young31 at Delamere Forest, Cheshire

I will be reviewing Will Young‘s Forestry Commission show tomorrow night (July 6th, 2012) at Delamere Forest, Cheshire.

My last trip to the Forest was to watch The Courteeners; a show which I later dubbed ‘Shameless: The Festival.’ Draw your own, rather obvious conclusions with that one. I look forward to a much more sedate, sophisticated and suitably regal experience courtesy of the sublime talents of Mr Young.

Anyone who knows me will attest to the fact that I regularly proclaim my love for Will, referring to him as my ideal man: intelligent, quick-witted, charming, handsome, good with animals…I have a few minor glitches to contend with I grant you, but where others see a mountain, I simply see a steep hill; I acknowledge my fear of steep hills and I power through. I’ll let you know how I progress with that…

I don’t think that I could pick a favourite Will track – I think that his back catalogue must surely be the envy of most male artists. ‘Who Am I?’ is a particular favourite though.

You will be able to read my review on www.efestivals.co.uk from Monday onwards (9th), but I will of course provide a link on here.

The Courteeners with All The Young at Delamere Forest 2.7.11 – review

The Courteeners live at Delamere Forest, Cheshire, with support from All The Young.

Saturday, 2nd July 2011.

My review of this alfresco show is now up on eFestivals, please find links below to review and pictures:

A lively one to say the least; not to detract from the performance of either band, but crowd control issues marred this otherwise blissfully summery set for me.
